Bio: Alberto was born and raised in Puerto Rico and received a BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota Florida. After graduating in the summer of 1998, he moved to Atlanta and has been actively exhibiting work in the United States and Puerto Rico since 2003. His work is about how we as individuals identify ourselves and how our internal thoughts and feelings are represented externally--be it how we express ourselves, what we wear, objects that we hold dear or the space we occupy. He considers how meaning is applied to objects that represent some aspect of the subject's personality, personal history or personal events taking place. Inspiration comes from whatever falls within his creative path. Be it Family, present situation, childhood interests, cultural heritage, found objects, nature, masks, books, films, etc. "It all comes down to a love for art as well as for the process of creating it. It's important as breathing, producing art brings balance and without it, I feel incomplete." - Alberto Mier, dk Gallery Illustration Artist
