Birmingham native Lee Wilson can trace her artistic expression and desire to paint to early childhood. Enrolling in art lessons was the first step of a career that carried her to the University of Montevallo and later the University of North Alabama to pursue studies in both art and interior design. While working in the interior design field, her passion for painting was reignited after taking a position in an art gallery. Wilson's abstracts, landscapes and figure images demonstrate her use of bold, vibrant color and movement-creating brushstrokes. Abstracts have become a favorite to produce with geometric shapes and lines anchoring the composition, as well as billowy cloud formations that consume the canvas. Lee Wilson's work hangs in numerous private collections throughout the region as well as corporate collections including: Iiberia Bank, Kirkland Clinic at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Samford University, University of Georgia, Upward Headquarters in South Carolina, Springhouse Restaurant at Lake Martin, Hoffman Media and River Region Cardiology to name a few. She has also been featured in a number of publications including Birmingham Home & Garden, Birmingham Magazine, Lifeline Journal, Distinction Magazine, Southern Lady Magazine and Tuscaloosa Magazine. Lee resides in Hoover, Alabama with her husband.
