Valentine Aprile (b. 1972, Somerville, New Jersey USA) is an American multidisciplinary artist of Indigenous Mexican and European descent, currently living and working in Baltimore, Maryland. She is the first woman in her family to receive a college degree, having earned both a BFA in visual arts and MA in Arts Education from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia in 1995 and 1997 respectively. Her work encompasses painting, various forms of dance, site-specific and theatrical performance, video, filmmaking, acting, and directing. This work has taken her across the United States and her paintings have also shown internationally. Select awards include the Maryland State Art Council Creativity Grant for Project Planning, Figure Painting Grant from the Art Students League of New York, Various short film and performance awards including a Leeway Foundation Window of Opportunity Grant (Philadelphia PA), and New Edge Residency Award (Philadelphia PA)
