Anna Cyan is a passionate student of the human condition. As a realist, she grounds her paintings firmly in the figurative domain. But realism is not an end in itself. Anna depicts people in states of inner emergency – or emergence. Anna’s true subject is what it’s like to be alive. Anna has pursued artistic excellence across a wide terrain: Toronto, Los Angeles, New York. She is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design University, and received classical training at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. Anna has also studied independently with artists Alyssa Monks and Keita Morimoto. Anna lives in Toronto and has participated in numerous group exhibitions there. Her work hangs in private collections in Canada and USA.
