"I have been working with landscape imagery for a little over 25 years. First with etchings, then lithography and relief prints. Now, pen, ink, and watercolor are my media of choice with the work becoming more non-representational. But every now and then I go back to printmaking for its unique qualities. The process of carving the image, inking the block, then pulling the bold graphic print off the press sometimes best captures the awe of the landscape. These images are invented spaces intended to first, convey the beauty and complexity within the natural world and second, to explore a little of the struggle within our human experience. The concern for preserving the wonder of the natural world drives this work. Especially as the need to address climate change becomes ever more urgent."
