Thea has been designing and creating beaded jewelry for 20 years. Over time, her artistry evolved from jewelry to decorative glasswork. She has studied with many world renowned glass artists, having learned a variety of techniques that she applies with her own exclusive twist.Thea’s latest work employs the “batik” process involving different colored powdered frit, a very fine grit of glass. She particularly likes working with colors that have reactive components, so that the final product differs in color from the unfired raw glass. Through this experimentation, she has developed a color palette to incorporate in her work. Her color sense has been influenced by having lived near the Maine coast, mountains, forests, and the Arizona Sonoran Desert. Each work of art that Thea creates is one of a kind. Every glass drawing is unique as are the colors integrated into each piece. Thea aspires to channel peace and happiness through her fused glass
