Jean-Claude Severe was born in 1941 in Cap Haitien, Haiti. He attended Roosevelt Durand School and began painting in 1955, studying under Philome Obin. He lives in Cap-Haitien as a full artist who has been exhibited locally. (Haiti Voodoo Kingdom To Modern Riviera by John Allen Franciscus pp.90)
