Following in the footsteps of the Giacometti brothers and the Lalannes, Dallas, Texas based artist Larry Whitely transforms metal into organic and delicate sculptures. Flowers, bird nests, feathers, and more are all subject matter for Whitely, gifted with an ability to evoke the most fragile, graceful qualities of nature cast in rigid brass and steel. Recently, Larry was honored with the 2017 “Artist/Craftsman of the Year” award from AIA Dallas. This distinguished award “recognizes craftsmen and artisans within the Dallas area whose talent, technique, diligence and creative insight makes great architecture possible.”
