"I've been painting for as long as I can remember. My Mum is an artist too and she always had art supplies around the house, so it's just what I would do. I spent my school days drawing and doodling away, instead of actual school work. I've always just been a dreamer really, staring out of windows at all of that....but I did always excel in art class!I am self taught. My love for creating is always rooted in nature and my daily surroundings. I'm forever drawn to how light bounces. Always studying high-lights, shades and shadows....day or night...and textures. I am tactile by nature, and can't help but touch everything. Which is accidentally helpful when I recreate those textures with paint - whether it be feathers, fur, tree bark, stone, wood grain, flower petals, water....all of it. Colors have always ruled the day in my world, can you imagine life without colors? For me, they're impossible not to notice and enjoy...... and happiness is splashing them everywhere.I suppose, in a way, painting is fairly haphazard for me. I'm not too interested in straight lines or measurements, so I simply just begin. The magic and wonder of paint is that there are no rules. At least not in my book. There's no wrong or right, it's all about how my eyes see something and how that something translates through my hand and brush onto a surface. And I'm in love with the process."
