"As you can see by my birth date, I’ve been around since 1947, a post-war baby. I knew at age 12 that nothing could engage me like making art. I stayed up all night melting crayons to form a princess on wood…my turning point; losing all track of time." Pamela Nelson is an artist living in Dallas, TX, working in painting, mixed media, and public art installations. She received her BFA from Southern Methodist University in 1974. Pamela has exhibited in over 100 national venues, including the Dallas Museum of Art, the Austin Museum of Art, and The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC, to name a few. She served on the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts for 10 years, and in 2000 she was honored with the Legend Award by the Dallas Contemporary. Pamela has several permanent public art installations, including a color theory project entitled Color Equations at Dallas Northpark Center in Dallas, TX.
