Annie Brito Hodgin (b. 1983) is a largely self-taught figurative oil painter whose work explores the tension between religion, memory, and feminine identity in the American South. Hodgin approaches painting as both an act of devotion and inquiry—mining personal history, religious iconography, and psychological symbolism to create narratives that reflect trauma. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, and raised in the Southern U.S., Hodgin brings a layered cultural lens to her work, drawing on traditional Christian imagery, Southern folklore, and domestic life. Hodgin's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions with Red Arrow and is part of both private and public collections, including the Soho House Collection. She lives and works in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and is represented by Red Arrow Gallery.
