ANDREW CHRISTIAN Andrew Christian is a young, upcoming artist with a passion for architecture and abstract painting. Since the age of two Andrew had been exposed to the art world through his father's involvement and has developed a keen eye for interpretation and expression. It was at this age that he was teaching his fellow classmates about the lighting and shadow in their crayon drawings. He has always had a natural gift in photography and painting with mixed mediums. In 2012 his art was donated to make holiday cards with all proceeds going to the Cayman Cancer Society charity. In addition to this in 2013, Andrew won the prestigious Walkers Art Competition raising $5,000 for his schools art department. During his last year of high school he won the ‘Artist of the year’ award given by the National Gallery. One of the key attributes leading Andrew’s success is his edgy approach to modern art; although he is fluent in many styles and studied other artists work in A-level art; he has always maintained an originality unaffected by famous art styles in existence. His approach is focused on creating unique pieces of art that have very little influence with the outside world. Living on an island has helped towards this but it’s also his drive to create something revolutionary and captivating that has lead to this. In all of his art there is a deeper meaning to the painting, with heaps of subliminal images that can take years of observation to notice. In everything that he does his goal is to create something that captivates mystery he himself would take months to notice. His ability to capture realistic art has always been an easy task and it is because of this that he prefers to challenge himself with creating abstract paintings that can tell a story that grows longer the more you look at the painting. Andrew feels that a great piece of art intrigues the mind and insinuates thoughts; and leaves the mind forever pondering the true message behind it.
