Artist and Musician, Rastafarian Randy Chollette’s talents are God given and spiritually driven. He gives all praises to Jah for the gift of artistic expression and gives credit for the development of his abilities to his personal relationship with Almighty God.Randy’s work ranges from realistic to the abstract covering such themes as; spirituality, landscape, cultural artifacts and political statements. When it comes to opinions about Cayman and preserving its culture, Randy is uncompromising and outspoken. Also evident is his love for Cayman’s naturalsurrounding, honour for his mixed Heritage and observance of brotherhood and humanity.In 2000, Randy received the Best in Show award from the Kensington Lott Gallery show, Blue. He has also garnished a Special Commendation award for second place in Cayman’s annual McCoy Prize art competition, 2003. He was given the Peoples Choice award for the same show in 2003 and 2004. Randy was the featured artist for the Cayman National Gallery’s Art @ Governors exhibition 2004. The Cayman National Cultural Foundation and The Cayman National Museum have all purchased his works as a part of their mandate to preserve Cayman’s cultural heritage for future generations. His most recent accolades are winning the McCoy Prize art competition 2004 with a cultural piece titled Chollette Chalet and a very successful one man show in the Grand Lobby of the Westin Casuarina, May 2005. He has had showings at The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman, ongoing, The Grand Old House Restaurant 2007 and The Cayman Island National Gallery, 2008. He was also one of the top featured artists at the Morgan.
