Bert Yarborough’s vivid and visceral paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited internationally and feature in the collections of museums throughout the U.S. His work, which is often but not always abstract, evokes something both urban and primitive. Their uncompromising use of color and form make them dark celebrations of a unique epoch. Yarborough holds degrees in architecture and photography from Clemson University and the University of Iowa, respectively, and has practiced art as a National Endowment for the Arts fellow, a Fulbright fellow, and as a recipient of New Hampshire State Arts Council grants. His long contribution to the arts in Provincetown and Cape Cod includes a two-year fellow residency with the Fine Arts Work Center, where he has also served as Visual Arts Program Coordinator for four years and as Chairman of the Visual Committee as well as on the Board of Trustees.
