"Clay is a magnificent medium to work with. It constantly challenges my creativity, knowledge, and skills. It pushes my boundaries and makes me go forward, makes me want to discover and experience more and more. Life is a constant change and my artwork represents this change. I love the fact that clay allows me to create art that possesses dynamic motion, and direction. With every piece I am trying to create movement. There is a surprise at every angle and no side is the same. In my work I like to implement nature by using leaves, flower-like elements, and clean organic forms. I would like my art pieces to carry a strong reminder how important and relevant nature is and how dependent we are on it. Creating my pieces I use both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. I work with porcelain and mid-fire stoneware." ABOUTDaniela Kouzov was born and raised in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. From a very early age she was involved in painting, drawing and acting. She obtained a Degree in Art from The Art and Fashion Institute, Plovdiv, Bulgaria and participated in numerous group art exhibits during her four years of education. After graduation she took part in two fashion show competitions with personal avant garde collections and won First Place in Emerging Fashion Designer Category. With a desire to have a broader view of the art field she obtained a Master's Degree in Business from University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Opportunity to continue her education brought her to the US at the age of 26 and she went for her second Master's in Business Degree at Northpark University, Chicago, IL. She has been actively pursuing ceramics for the past three years, participating in numerous juried events in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana, and was part of group exhibits at The Neville Public Museum and Artless Bastard Gallery in Green Bay, WI. She currently lives and creates in Green Bay, WI.
