(1943 - 2020) David DeVary has been called a "New West" artist. His unique style combines romanticized images of the American Southwest using contemporary images. Modern-day cowboys and cowgirls are surrounded with silver and copper metallic leaf and then glazed. DeVary's paintings move in the direction of being idealized icons out of Vogue and Bazaar magazines, rather than depictions grounded in reality. At the same time, his works retain a quality that is timeless and familiar.*
