American Artist Erwin P. Lewandowski maintains a studio/residence along the shoreline of Lake Huron in Northeast Michigan. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts Department and Education Department at Central Michigan University. His career as a professional artist began in 2004 following 25 years of business development, management and co-ownership. As an artist he’s managed to find a comfortable blend for his artistic skills, styles of art, subjects of interest, medium preferences and a business model that continues to shape his art career. After experimenting with a variety of subjects, he discovered a love for working with waterscapes, a decision that remains the focus of his artwork today. Artistic license plays an important role in his artwork and he often combines two or more scenes to create a drawing that is unique in style, original in concept, meticulously rendered in detail, and visually appealing in form, content and composition. Today he is an award-winning artist with representation with numerous gallery agents throughout the United States. He is a two-time recipient of the Best in Drawing award from the International Guild of Realism, has earned dual Signature Status from the Colored Pencil Society of America, and has earned Masters Status from Pencil Art Society of Canada and from the Colored Pencil Community in Sydney, Australia. His articles and artwork have appeared in numerous trade publications and on a wide range of social media sources (including public and commercial television), and his artwork continues to be featured in solo and group exhibitions. Each year he takes time to host a number of workshops based on his colored pencil, pigment ink and graphite artwork. Special note: Erwin uses Strathmore 400 Series Bristol (smooth finish) paper. His earlier drawings were created on Strathmore 300 Series Bristol (smooth finish) paper. Both papers are archival.
