Carol Marine finds beauty in the ordinary, often elevating everyday objects through her contemporary compositions. A simple cup or a cluster of fruit becomes a study in color, light, and form, revealing presence in the familiar. She earned her BFA in art from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and joined the Daily Painting movement in 2006. The discipline of creating small works each day helped her develop a distinctive style described as painterly realism: clean, fresh, and direct. Working mostly alla prima, she paints in single sessions with a mix of spontaneity and clarity, using brushes alongside tools like knives and squeegees.Marine has taught workshops around the world and is the author of Daily Painting (2014), which continues to inspire artists internationally. She lives in Missoula, Montana, with her husband, son, and dog, finding joy in painting as well as in making clothes, furniture, and collage.
