Chanell Angeli (b. 1988) (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist of Caribbean descent, based in Atlanta, GA.Chanell’s mixed-media practice centers around the woven energies of diasporic religions, the florarepresentative of her childhood, and her Caribbean heritage. Her work creates an immersive and texturedexperience by using collage, sculpture, photography, and foliage.Chanell’s most recent body of work weaves together monochromous flashes of acrylic over figurative imagesof men, illustrating narratives of growth, rebirth and her understanding of manhood. Chanell is currentlyworking on a research study of black men in the south to inform these new works and others.Chanell has shown work in the group exhibitions: Soul of Music (2022) the National Museum of AfricanAmerican Music, Mother Nature (2022), The Core Club, The Cultural Arts Center of Atlanta and So We Begin(2021,) a public mural at Atlanta Contemporary. Additionally, Chanell was the winner of the MvVO Art AdShow (2022) displayed inside of the Occulus, Westfield World Trade Center, NY and walked away with tophonors and a specialty Clio Award.
