Ed Branson, a husband and father of two grown children, was born in 1957 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He’s been a self-employed glass artist since 1987, working in his converted 80-year-old apple barn, after studying at the Haystack School of Crafts in Maine. He later studied at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington. Since 1982, glass has been a constant presence in Ed Branson's life. His relationship with this magical material has been enriched and explored alongside some of the world's glass masters. However, his knowledge is predominantly built on daily experiences and practice in his studio. This journey has led Branson to a fairly simple artistic approach: trust the glass, have fun, accept mistakes, study nature, and search for the beautiful forms and colors inherent in glass's personality.
