Carlo Grew up in Kilauea Town on Kauai's north shore in the decade following the closure of the Kilauea Sugar Co., and influences from that period form a central part of Carlo's art.His imaginative paintings, many depicting "old style" plantation cottages juxtaposed amidst transcendent terrains and sublime seascapes, and his unique use of color capture, with dazzling simplicity, the essence of living daily surrounded by the beauty of Hawai'i.Carlo primarily paints with acrylics on canvas, and occasionally will use paper, wood and other mediums including watercolor, tempera and oil pastels.
