Arizona based artist Harper Henry is known for creating colorful, unique oil paintings that focus mainly on horses, animals, and figures from the American West. After receiving a BFA in illustration, Harper enjoyed a successful 30-year career as a designer and art director in the world of sports apparel and commercial advertising. In 2016, she made the decision to resign and pursue painting full-time. Harper’s work explores an unexpected fusion of abstraction and realism. Her art aims to depict the realistic beauty of the subject matter and, at the same time, give the viewer fractal imagery, movement and emotion. Her artistic influences are Nicolai Fechin, John Singer Sargent and Oleg Stavrowsky.
