Robert G. Holland was born in 1941. He grew up in Brandon, Mississippi where he started painting at the age of twelve. After high school, he attended college, Hinds Community College, where he majored in Fine Art and was privately tutored. After attneding school in Mississippi, he attended college in Richmond, Virginia majoring in art and design. Holland is known as a landscape and wildlife impressionistic painter working in the media of oil and acrylic paint on canvas and board. Recently he has expanded his style of painting to include abstract paintings of wildlife and Native American subject matter. His painting technique can be characterized by heavy application of paint in the process of creating light and atmosphere. He works in both plein air and studio with varied subject matter including landscape, cityscape and wildlife. After having an extensive career as a designer and an active artistic life within the art communities of Santa Fe, Newmexico, Scottsdale, Arizona and Laguna Hills, CA, he moved to Austin, TX.
