The paintings are made with gouache and graphite on wood panel. Ryan works with the natural grain of the wood, enhancing the beauty of the paintings. The artist’s commitment to perceptual art and his close relationship to illustration give his work a unique quality. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, he has worked for such names as Bergdorf Goodman and Calvin Klein. Today McMenamy divides his time between Provincetown MA and New York City.
