1938 - Anatoli Nikitovich Turkin was born in 1938 in Astrakhan, Russia.He was accepted at the Krasnodar Art School in 1961, graduating in 1965 with a degree in fine art.He has participated in many regional, zonal, national and All-Union exhibitions.Turkin has been a member of the Russian Artists’ Union since 1974.In 2000, he was named a Kustodiev Regional Prize Laureate.His paintings are in the permanent collection of the B.M. Kustodiev Astrakhan Art Museum.He currently lives and works in Astrakhan.Turkin is listed on page 327 of Matthew Bown’s, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters, 1900-1980’s.
