1932 - 2015 Leonid Krivitski was born in 1932 in the city of Kirovograd, Ukraine.He graduated from the St. Petersburg Tavricheskoe Art School in 1953 and, in 1959, he earned his degree from The St. Petersburg Academy of Art (studio of Prof. Serebrjany). In 1969, he received a silver medal from the Academy of Art. This medal allowed him to train in Italy. For 25 years he continuously taught painting at the art and graphic faculty at the St. Petersburg Pedagogical Institute called "Gertsen."Throughout his tenure, over 60 young artists finished his personal studio. Leonid was a participant at the All-Russian Exhibitions. He was awarded the prestigious title "Honored Artist of Russia,"His paintings are in the permanent collections of museums in Nikolaev, Kirovograd (Ukraine), Brjansk (Russia) and St. Petersburg. He is listed in Matthew Bown's, A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Painters.
