Lawrence is an accomplished architect and highly skilled designer. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the Architectural Association School in London. His early work was in the office of Charles Moore and he credits that work as his real training in design. His long-time interest in cities and their planning histories can be read through the maps and graphics that he translates to spacial relationships. In parallel, he is a self-taught architectural renderer, who, at the beginning of his career used his pencil drawing skills to pick up some of his college expenses. All design work in the ancient times of the 1960’s and 70’s was done on paper; designing and drafting was pencil work. He has transferred these skills to 3D computer modeling for his architectural work and digital painting for making multi layered map drawings.
