I am a weaver and wood turner. I have studied weaving from noted weavers suchas James Kohler and Rachel Brown and been a member of the Rocky MountainWeavers Guild as well as Espanola Fiber Art Center and I have spent a week onthe Navajo Reservation learning Navajo methods of weaving. I weave on a RioGrande walking loom and my weavings are influenced by the southwest colorsthat are bold with motifs of my own design. My weavings typically use rug weightchurro and merino wools. My wood turnings are influenced by Southwest woods and designs. I extensivelyuse mesquite for bowls, vases and platters with turquoise inlays. When usingother woods such as maple, my turnings revolve around ̃basket illusion" designsthat reflect Native American baskets and pots, both in shape and colors. My moremodern turnings utilize “piercing techniques” to enhance the design and beauty ofthe piece. I have been the recipient of the “Best in Show” at the Millicent RogersMuseum miniature show 2019 in Taos, New Mexico.
