Christine Carrier grew up in a creative household with parents that kindled the fire of creativity within her. The artist’s second-grade teacher was the first to encourage fine art as a potential path for her, but it wasn’t until after getting a degree in fine art from Samford University that she began the process of growing as a solo artist. Christine started on the exercise of stretching my skills and honing her craft (something she believes to be a life-long journey as an artist). She hopes to create artwork that strikes the balance of fun and timeless, in an effortless manner. Composition and color harmony are a distinctive part of Carrier’s work. Her palettes and subject matter are heavily influenced by her upbringing along the east coast. The artist hopes to bring these costal scenes to life through a new perspective and unexpected moments of color. Christine paints entirely from the three primaries (red, yellow + blue) and white. This has helped her gain a strong understanding of color theory. Painting has stretched the artist in so many ways and she is grateful she gets to do what she loves every day. Carrier was raised in Jacksonville, FL but currently lives in Nashville, TN with her pup Annie. When she is not in the studio you can find her outside, usually near the water, or tending to her plants. The artist believes the things she loves are naturally folded into her practice. This keeps her coming back to the studio to tackle new ideas and color ways.
