Anderson Smith is a self-taught visual artist, inspired by life and its many nuances. Anderson grew up in the South Side of Chicago and has lived in Atlanta for the last 20+ years. He took to art at a very young age, drawing constantly. Anderson's dream was to be a cartoonist- the colors, shapes and flamboyant nature of the linework were particularly attractive to him as a child. After a career in sales, Anderson Smith moved from Chicago to Atlanta and became a professional photographer. Through taking photos, he was exposed to the creative culture of the 'Capital of the South,' which led to a deep passion to support local art. After his history of helping to foster the Atlanta art scene from the early 00's, Anderson decided to open Gallery Anderson Smith in 2022. His mission with the gallery was to uplift and share both local and international art through exciting exhibitions and thoughtful curation, while also being as accessible as possible to the Atlanta community. Currently, his art resides in the collections of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Fellaship ATL and with notable figures such as Cam Newton, the late Kevin Samuels, Future, Lil Baby, and Clifford "T.I" Harris. His solo show at Mirrorball Gallery in Tyron, NC called "Multitude of Color" runs from April 25 to early June. Anderson Smith's solo birthday exhibition, "The Art of Celebration" opens June 14. From Anderson: "When you're unique and not afraid to show it, people will come to you for what you do uniquely. If I were to sum up who I am and my style, it would be abstract expression, conceptualizing the beauty and the chaos in life." Instagram: @artistandersonsmith
