Artist biographyPeng Qi is an award-winning visual artist and art educator. He lives and works both in Chinaand the USA. Having lived through Culture Revolution and Student Strike as a teenager inWuhan, China, Peng Qi experienced vicissitudes of human life and the surrounding world,which has become the source of his variety series of works. He developed an interest incombing painting skills with computer and internet during his master study in the 2000s. Hetakes inspiration from diverse culture, captures colors and patterns that appear randomly, aswell as the imaginations in his head, fuses it with his own traditions and belief systems, filtersit through the lens of technology, and then expresses it on canvas in a mesmerizing manner.His work reflects the influence of the digital network and technology on people’s livingenvironments, thinking modes, and artistic creation, tries to expand the human perspectivesof the world and give different perspectives to think how we could be doing differently. Hisartworks have been exhibited internationally in a variety of prominent venues and are part ofprivate and public collections in the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
