Manhattan-born Eugene began making art in early childhood and says that this was “the most fun thing to do; I couldn’t understand why you’d want to do anything else!” He is currently working toward a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree, with a minor in Fashion, at Pratt Institute. Among the mediums in which he creates are watercolor, acrylic, oil, and colored pencil and also sculpture, fiber, and installation, with a focus on abstracts and portraiture. Eugene finds in art a vehicle for addressing mental health concerns and other challenges. He draws inspiration from nature and from connecting with others, especially with fellow artists.
