Observation of my environment inspires me to translate emotions, feelings and experiences through a personal visual language. Colors and texture found in nature are a strong influence, while other pieces are guided by emotions and feelings. My current work incorporates painting intuitively, experimenting with tools and materials. Personal choices and the interplay of line, color, shape and texture create rich layers of captured moments in time until the final composition reveals itself. My art has succeeded when the viewer’s response to the work is reflected in their attention, interest and appreciation of my interpretations. As an art educator in the classroom for over thirty years, many shared experiences with students influenced my journey in the arts while helping them discover their creative strengths. Representation by several Atlanta galleries has placed my work in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the country.
