OIL ON CANVAS BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA Stephanie Taylor studied Fine Arts at the University of Victoria and has been painting since 2018. Her current art mantra is “Relentlessly Creative.” She moves between more abstract and impressionistic styles incorporating varying elements of representational detail in order to convey the fleeting emotion of experience in nature while still anchoring the viewer in a specific environment. The light is a common focus in many of her pieces. She works in large scale oils portraying the mountains, ocean, and forests of British Columbia where she spends as much of her free time as possible. Stephanie grew up surrounded by the ocean and mountains of British Columbia, Canada and studied fine arts at the University of Victoria. She has been focused on painting since 2018 and is currently doing mainly large-scale oils inspired by her love of the outdoors. Stephanie is trying to merge an abstract impressionism with realism to convey the emotion of a place and anchor the viewer in a specific environment. She spends her spare time hiking, camping, kayaking and skiing on the west coast of BC, Canada and beyond.
