Avery Schuster grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut. She graduated with a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2016. Avery attended Pratt Institute’s MFA program in 2019. Currently Avery is a full-time painter out of her studio in Somerville, MA. Avery is interested in creating a world of vibrant colors, using comforting subjects and playful compositions. She is inspired by domestic spaces, the objects with in these spaces and nature and its obscurities. Avery is influenced by abstract expressionism and impressionism. Avery often paints from life. Nature’s ever changing light and constant movement are aspects she strives to portray. Her paintings are a way of exploring, absorbing, and visually expressing the ethos around her.
