Belgian Since 2005, Alain Poncelet has been publishing comic art and illustrations spanning across several different genres, notably those of eroticism, travel, and the fantastical. Through the course of over 15 years, the artist has persistently challenged himself in ways that strengthen his versatility on the page. Poncelet has collaborated with metal band Skeptical Minds on the designs of t-shirts, album covers, and scenic sets; reimagined a darker, erotic interpretation of Homer's Odyssey with Italian publisher Passenger Press; and has recently published a collection of observational erotic illustrations in his book Morphea. Note the lack of speech bubbles, as the artist describes his erotic works as a style of "graphic poetry." Poncelet's keen eye playfully captures and incorporates elements in the surrounding vicinity to enhance the paintings and guide the reader through the slow-burning narrative.
