Jamie works in oils and is primarily a studio painter as he likes to paint larger sizes. His inspiration comes from reliving the memories, energies, enjoyment and emotions of the scene he is painting. His landscapes are characterized by texture, a sense of motion and energy, contrast and big colour. Jamie likes to use a lot of texture, big colours, and contrast and his technique lends itself to conveying motion and energy. His favourite colours are big blue skies and vibrant green. Strong compositions complemented by texture, bold colours, large shadows, and energetic brush strokes invite the viewer to feel immersed and alive within the paintings.
