Sean Flood (b.1982, MA) received his BFA in Fine Arts from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University in 2005. Since then, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and has received multiple grants, awards, residencies, and commissions. His work is in numerous public and corporate collections, as well as many private collections internationally. Flood works fluidly between painting, printmaking, and drawing, paying particular attention to how the atmosphere, texture, and mark-making come together throughout the different media. Focusing on rapidly changing urban environments he strives to demonstrate the continuous energy and constant interactions through mark-making. Flood is painter of the observed, of real situations explored on site and finished in his studio. His prints and paintings are also connected to sound, employing marks and gestures that give shape and color to the noises and sensory experiences that surround and define his chosen subjects.
