Jason Hackenwerth is a multidisciplinary artist working in the fields of painting, sculpture, and installation. His loose and spontaneous paintings begin in response to social, political, and personal issues. The dynamic scenarios that unfold on his paintings' surfaces are the artist’s way of working through his own emotions related to the bombardment of media and life drama. Each painting offers both struggle and resolution. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. Jason received his MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design and his Bachelor of Fine Art in printmaking from Webster University. His work has been featured in publications such as Art Desk, Creative Review UK, American Craft, Design Journal, Art In America, Sculpture Magazine, The New York Times, Creative Review, and London Metro. Jason is a 2011 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Inc. grant recipient and a two-time recipient of the Creative Pinellas Professional Artist Grant. He currently lives and works in St. Petersburg, FL.
