A painting is a captured moment. It brings the artist and the viewer together to engage, consider and contemplate. My work honors the natural world, trying to capture what might soon be gone using whatever media is at hand. I have been a student of nature nearly my entire life and worked as a professional ecologist for over 25 years. Long hours spent in the field have provided me with many opportunities to observe and appreciate the incredibly rich biodiversity of our world. I know enjoy a split life between Ajo AZ and Bellingham, WA (Border to Border).
