Brian is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Art. Earning a BFA degree in 1981. Brian considers himself a "post-modern artist", concentrating on cityscapes, often in a complex, multi-media approach. While Brian first concentrated on watercolor paintings, he has since successfully moved into the world of acrylics and mixed media collage. His work, whether cityscape, landscape, or an abstract composition, seeks to capture many moments in time.Brian's gestural use of light, shape, color and line allows the viewer to be drawn into the piece, identifying the subject and completing the piece for him or herself. Brian's influences include Cezanne, Monet, John Marin, Jackson Pollock, and William DeKooning. Brian's work is highly awarded and can be found in collections throughout the country. Brian currently resides in Michigan with his wife, he is a father to two sons and a grandfather of two boys.
