Madeleine holds a BA from Smith College and BFA and MFA degrees with honors from the School of Visual Arts. She is also a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, with an MA in Art and Art Education. Madeleine's first solo exhibition was presented in 2025 in the viewing room of Bienvenu Steinberg and C Gallery. She has exhibited her artwork in group shows at other New York City venues including Ronald Feldman Gallery, Exit Art, School of Visual Arts Galleries, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, El Barrio's Artspace PS 109, and Culture Lab. One of her artist books was displayed on the Center for Book Arts table at the 2025 Art on Paper Fair in NYC. Her artist books are included in the permanent collections of cultural institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Thomas J. Watson Library, NYC), Art Institute of Chicago (Ryerson and Burnham Libraries, IL), the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Library Research Center, DC), Bowdoin College (ME), Smith College (Hillyer Art Library, MA), and the Center for Book Arts (NYC). For a number of years, Madeleine's artwork was on view in the Viewing Program of the DrawingCenter's (NYC) online artist registry. While she was a high school student, a painting and a sculpture of Madeleine's were acquired by the New YorkSummer School of the Arts for its permanent collection. Creating art has been a soothing, healing, hands-on exploration for her.
