"My art celebrates the simple beauty and vitality of commonplace objects. Painting these images is an act of contemplation that I hope produces objects that bring the joy of discovering unexpected beauty in things we often take for granted. A bunch of onions, a head of garlic, a sliced lime, a peeled lemon, can all bring a sense of wonder when we take the time to look." Michael Lynn Adams of Ashland, Oregon is a contemporary realist artist whose still lifes are luminous and photogenic, highlighting beauty in objects and their details which may be overlooked. A co-founder of The Representational Art Conference or TRAC, along with Michael Pearce, he has directed conferences hosting hundreds of artists, educators, and art professionals to further the field of representational artists and encourage education and progress in the field, with an emphasis on the psychological underpinnings of the art.Adams is a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America (OPA), Portrait Society of America, and Ashland Gallery Association.
