Victor Mirabelli creates imaginative landscapes through his use of free-spirited, impressionistic brushwork. Formally educated at Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle, Mirabelli later moved to New York City where he has resided for the last 30 years. His artwork spans the country, collected and displayed in numerous exhibitions across the United States. Influenced by his early education in abstract oil painting, Mirabelli combines paint layering, unique brushwork, and scribbling techniques in his work. Each one of Mirabelli's works evokes a mood within the imagery "where detail is characterized by his use of contrasting light against dark." Inspiration comes from serene imagery he viewed as a child growing up in Washington state along the Columbia River and dramatic basalt canyons, in addition to the weathered farmhouses in the sagebrush hills. Many describe Mirabelli's work as "haunting and soul-baring... a very personal, solitary interpretation of the surrounding landscape."
