Sadie Valeri (b. 1971) is an internationally recognized classical oil painter based in Northern California. Primarily known for her Dutch Master-inspired still lifes, Sadie's work features crumpled wax paper swirling in dynamic arrangements with seashells and antique vessels. She paints exclusively by natural light and uses historic methods to create her ethereal arrangements.In recognition of her reputation both as painter and teacher, Sadie has been invited to judge several national art competitions including the ARC Salon Still Life category, and she has been a presenter at the Portrait Society of America, The Representational Art Conference (TRAC), and F.A.C.E Figurative Art Conference. Her work is included in prestigious collections including the New Britain Museum of American Art and has been exhibited across the United States and Europe. Sadie has been featured in dozens of periodicals and books, including the cover art for the book Lessons in Classical Painting by Juliette Aristides.Sadie Valeri earned her BFA in Illustration in 1993 from the Rhode Island School of Design. She continued her education with living masters of classical realism including Ted Seth Jacobs, Juliette Aristides, and Michael Grimaldi; Studio Escalier in France; and the Hudson River Fellowship with Jacob Collins.Through her teaching studio, Sadie Valeri Atelier, Sadie has gained a reputation as one of the leading instructors of painting and drawing in the classical tradition in the United States.Current news, 2024:After 24 years in San Francisco, Sadie Valeri has recently relocated to a sunny 2-acre property in Sebastopol, an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There she is finally realizing a long-time dream of building her own art studio with a view of a small decorative pond. With a dozen California Redwoods on the property she shares with her husband and their beloved aging dog, Sadie is finding peace and inspiration in the landscape of Northern California.
