A native New Yorker with minimal art education, Youngs is self-taught, which she believes "has been a rewarding journey." Today, Youngs lives in Connecticut and is called to the easel by her sensitivity to the moods of nature, subtle gesture, gentle sound, and feeling of light. There among the wildlife, gardens, and rivers, she paints in the impressionist style that has been a long tradition in the Connecticut community of artists. The ability to capture a certain inner view of beauty is Youngs' special gift to us. Her work is often described as "visual poetry." She is recognized as one of the leading living artists by "Who's Who in American Women." Exhibition invitations have taken her work to such places as Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Canada. Her paintings hang in the collections of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., H.R.H. Prince Charles of England, as well as numerous celebrity, corporate, and private collections.
