Frane Mlinar Frane Mlinar, talented painter of fine art is a resident of the United States, but was born in Croatia (1959). As a student, Mlinar became one of the youngest members of the Croatian Association of Graphic Artists. He studied fine art and the craft of painting at the Arts University of Sarajevo and at the Faculty of Arts and History of Art in Split (Croatia), earning his Masters Degree in 1984. In the years following graduation to 1988, he worked as a graphic designer, focusing on commercial art and technical illustration. Since partnering with the Croatian hyper-realism art movement in the 1980’s, Mlinar has succeeded in becoming one of the leading masters of this art. Critically acclaimed throughout Croatia, Europe, and the United States, Mlinar's work can be found in exclusive galleries and art collections of heads of state such as the President of the Croatian Parliament, the Deputy Chairman of the Croatian American Society, and others. In addition, this artist's work can also be found in the Croatian Embassy collection located in Washington, D.C. Frane Mlinar's work strives to impart to the world a much calmer view of his native land. His fine artwork commonly mirrors the traditions of the ancient fishing villages along the Adriatic Sea where life has remained unchanged for the last 100 years.
