A modern day impressionist who paints life with joy, vibrant textures and captivating color.I have always sought expression through art. First as a classically trained dancer - now through painting of life, both static and with movement. Always looking to convey beauty and hope for the future.Born and raised as a Southern Girl, early years spent in Atlanta, GA and Greensboro, NC before finally settling in Nashville, TN. My formal dance training included The School of American Ballet, and workshops in Jacob’s Pillow, near Tanglewood in Massachusetts. From there I joined the Ethno- American Dance Theater based in New York City, and traveled the United States with Walter Terry’s America has Many Faces tour during the Bi-Centennial. I then had the opportunity to join Dances of India, and again toured the United States. It was then time to start a family - so returning to Tennessee I enrolled in the O’More School of Design with a focus on Interior Contract Design and Architectural Restoration. I then had the opportunity to work with Knoll International. I have had the privilege to work on several historic renovation projects throughout middle Tennessee which included painting murals along with researching and applying documented stencils.Eventually I was drawn back into the dance world as an instructor with the Nashville Ballet, eventually rising to the position of Administrator of the School of Nashville Ballet. While there I helped develop the youth out-reach program and served as the youth cast director for many of the story Ballet’s.My art, both in dance and canvas, has been influenced my many incredible Artists. Some include: Albertine Maxwell, Peggi Kroll Roberts, Nancy Gruskin, Stanley Bielen, Lori Putnam, Frank Baggett, Kevin MacPherson, and Maggie Siner. Today, I focus on growing my flowers in my home garden - painting them to express beauty, life, and hope.Memberships:—- Oil Painters of America—- The American Impressionist SocietyRecognitions:—- Honorable mention winner in the AIS 4th annual All Member Online Exhibition—- Acceptance into the AIS Associate Member Online Exhibition 2024
