Tyler’s elegant sculptures draw from micromorphology within the organic world of biology, botany and chemistry using mathematics. He unites sensual, biomorphic forms using industrial materials such as wood, steel, and light. Sculptor Tyler Aiello was born in Denver, Colorado in 1967 and grew up in a family engaged in the design, architecture, and development business. Tyler studied architecture at Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and later attended the prestigious California College of Arts and Crafts where he received his degree in Sculpture. He worked as a top color consultant in the Bay Area and was a member of the vanguard experimental group, Survival Research Laboratories. Equally passionate about art making and community engagement, Tyler and his wife, painter Monica Aiello, were pioneers of Denver's River North Arts District (RINO) where they owned the award-winning gallery Studio Aiello and sculpture facility the TarFactory. Collectors appreciate his meticulous craftsmanship, laborious process, and attention to detail, which reveal the beauty in the minutiae of the Universe that comprises our microbiological world. Tyler’s work is prized by architects, designers, and consultants internationally, and is often commissioned for large-scale corporate and public art including a prestigious commission for Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater. His work has been presented at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Arvada Center for Art & Humanities, Center for Visual Arts, Wheaton College, Foothills Art Center, Madden Museum of Art, and the City of Denver. Tyler and Monica Aiello have also garnered national recognition for innovative public practice initiatives through their organization EUREKUS. The Aiellos’ work unites the art, science, and cultural communities by developing educational and outreach programs for audiences of all ages. Through EUREKUS, the couple partners with NASA, museums, schools, colleges, and companies nationally to explore STEAM learning. The Aiellos have collaborated with NASA, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Laboratory for Atmospheric & Space Physics, Johnson Space Center, Applied Physics Laboratory, Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Schools, Mizel Museum, Bemis School of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, California College of Art, Wheaton College, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Metro State University, Denver University, Museum of Outdoor Arts, and the Rocky Mountain School of Art + Design. The Aiellos are visiting artists at the Art Association of Jackson Hole each summer where they present their popular STEAM enrichment and outreach programs.
