A.L. Woods’ geometric abstract acrylic paintings are developed using a combination of repeating triangular shapes and subtle color variations inspired by nature, including oceanic coral reefs, San Bruno’s Buckeye Canyon after a storm, and roses from her personal garden. Whether her subjects are big or small, optical illusions of depth and space appear through fields of undulating, harmonious colors to create environments or “landscapes” that mirror the rhythms of our natural world.
